One activity that JAFP focuses on is "To publish financial planning related publications".
Our current publications are categorized in the following five areas depending on their purposes
and who we are targeting; 1) Journal of Financial Planning, 2) Financial planning textbooks and
examination question books, 3) Pro Bono Tools, 4) Survey results, and 5) Public education textbooks.
All are published in Japanese.
(1) Journal of Financial Planning
The Journal of Financial Planning was first published in February 1996 to offer updated
information in financial planning and as a continuing education tool for certified members.
Under the licensing agreement with the Financial Planning Association in the United States,
some of the contents from Journal of Financial Planning are translated into our Journal.
The publication frequency changed to monthly after October 2001, and is distributed to all our
members. Some portions of articles from our Journal are placed on-line as well.
(2) Financial Planning Textbooks and Examination Question Books
FP Textbooks to expand practitioners' knowledge and skills for use in their practices
and CFP Certification Examination Question Books are published.
FP Textbooks are revised yearly to reflect the current year's taxation.

(4) Survey Reports
Japan Association for Financial Planners conducts surveys of trends and status of the financial
planning industry in Japan, and publishes the reports. Those reports are not for sale but are
shared with members by placing them on "My Page" which is JAFP's members-only website. We also send a press release
regarding the survey to utilize media resources.

Conducted during August and September 2006. The survey's purpose was to
identify the current actual status of financial planning in Japanese financial
institutions. |
| Financial Planner Practice Survey Results |
Conducted annually. Its purposes are to identify the current practice of financial planning issues focused on independent planners' areas of practice and their awareness of the industry. It is utilized as a base for the future promotion of financial planning for the organization. |
| Life After Retirement Survey for Corporate Employees |
Conducted in November 2005. The survey's purpose was to be a resource for the public to understand life planning after retirement, awareness of money and trends. This helps us in our public education and promotional financial planning activities. |
(5) Public Education Material
JAFP also publishes personal finance educational material for consumers to improve financial literacy.
The current publication titled Personal Finance for Teens has been distributed free of charge to
130 high schools - a total of 7,500 copies so far.
