Japan Association for Financial Planners (JAFP) was established. First General Assembly was held in Tokyo for the establishment of the organization and its conference. |

JAFP participated in the Annual Conference of International Association for Financial Planners (IAFP), and had their first meeting, agreeing to pursue cooperation in all matters related to financial planning and its industry. |

JAFP established a financial planning certification examination.
Certification and education were separated, and assigned the "Certification Education Programs" to corporate support members. At the same time, the "Membership Education System" was implemented, leading to the current "Continuing Education" system. |

JAFP introduced the CFP® Certification Program in Japan after signing a Licensing/Affiliation Agreement with Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards (formerly International Board of Certified Financial Planners). |
